Summary
Rio Tinto Alcan: Gove – Export System Upgrade was delivered over a 6-month duration with several carefully planned shutdowns bringing online in sequence each of the new VSD units x 9, upgraded conveyor drive motors and extensive PLC design and rewire.
- Installation of new cable support to allow upgraded drive cables associated control cabling, including support bracketing.
- Receipt, unpack, prepare and Install client supplied equipment including ABB VSD units, upgraded conveyor drive motors, associated PLC equipment – Modbus and Profibus interface devices, upgraded Motor Control cubicles and Marshalling and Control Junction Boxes.
- Installation and termination of cabling including upgraded motor drive cables, control and instrumentation cabling.
- QA, Test and supply commissioning support throughout project as completed and the system was brought online into production.
- Removal of all redundant field wiring and PLC marshalling cable during and post shutdown periods.
